Former Eagles TE Lucas dies after coronavirus battle

Former Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dick Lucas died Wednesday after a battle with the coronavirus, the team announced on Friday. Lucas was 86.Lucas was a member of Philadelphia’s 1960 NFL championship squad.He played four seasons with the Eagles (1960-63). In 1961, five of his eight receptions went for touchdowns.Lucas posted career-best totals of 19 catches and 236 yards in 1962.Lucas played for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1958 and had four receptions for 47 yards before sustaining a leg injury that caused him to miss the 1959 season.
