Eagles CB Slay limited at practice; T Johnson sits again

The injury-riddled Philadelphia Eagles received some good news Thursday, as three-time Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay returned to practice amid his recovery from a concussion suffered Sunday.Slay was sidelined during the Eagles’ 38-29 road loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers as he was able to walk off the field on his own power late in the defeat. After sitting out practice until Wednesday, Slay was listed as a limited participant a day later with the team already missing opposite cornerback starter Avonte Maddox (ankle), who practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday and Thursday.Fellow three-time Pro Bowl player Lane Johnson has not practiced all week after missing Thursday’s session as he continues to evaluate second-opinion options for the tackle’s surgically repaired ankle. The injury has given him discomfort all season and forced him to sit out the season-opening loss at Washington.Johnson was carted off the field during the Steelers loss Sunday and played 39 offensive snaps, a recurring issue for an offensive line that has seen only one starter (center Jason Kelce) avoid prominent injury this season.
